There are exceptions to this rule and the best way to determine the length of your cylinders test is to examine the type of valve fitted.  If the valve has surface specific features like the Jubilee Gun Valve with bleed and dry gauge, you will be assured a 5-year test.  If your valve can be used for diving, whether you use it for this purpose of not, the test centre will treat it as needing a 2.5 year test.
